ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND EXCLUSIONS
Artist must be 16 years old or older.
Artwork must be original and completed in 2022 or later.
Artwork cannot have been displayed in any previous Kingsport Art
Guild sponsored show (Members Show, Appalachian Art Show, etc.).
Artwork must be the artis' own composition and design, and NOT
from a pattern, class, or reference photo not taken by the artist,
including Creative Common License source materials.
MAXIMUM WEIGHT: 25 lbs (2-D or 3-D, including frame, etc.)
EXCLUSIONS – The following artwork will not be accepted into the
show:
o Artwork produced in a class or under the direction of another
artist.
o Photography, photo etchings, or prints reproduced by
photographic processes.
o Computer generated artwork.
o Artwork using glass.
o Artwork that exceeds size restrictions as outlined below.
o Artwork which is dangerous or offensive.
2-D ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS
MEDIUMS including, but not limited to: Oil, Watercolor, Acrylic, Pastel,
Pencil, Charcoal, Egg Tempera, Mixed, Collage, Ink, and Prints by
traditional methods (lithography, serigraphy, etching, etc.)
DRY: Paint and other materials must be dry.
2-D MAXIMUM DIMENSIONS: 52” x 52” x 3” (including the frame)
Artwork must either be framed, gallery wrapped, or cradled panel:
o FRAME requirements: sturdy frame (no uniframes) and
artwork must be secured within the frame
o GALLERY WRAP requirements: 1.5” deep (minimum), painted
sides, and no visible staples
o CRADLED PANEL requirements: 1.5” deep (minimum), finished
sides
WIRED: Artwork must be wired for hanging (no saw tooth or clip
hangers)
PROTECTION: If required, artwork should be protected using
Plexiglass, however, glass will be accepted at the artist's own risk.
3-D ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS
3-D MAXIMUM DIMENSIONS: 52” x 52” x 4”
WIRED: Artwork must be wired for hanging (no saw tooth hangers)
WALL MOUNTED: 3-D artwork must be able to hang on the wall
(free standing 3D artwork cannot be accepted due to gallery
restrictions)
The judgement of the show’s chair regarding suitability, such as whether
the artwork is offensive, dangerous, or non-compliant, is binding and the
chair will remove such items before submission to the juror.
DELIVERY OF ARTWORK
When: Wed, April 3, 2024, 3:30-6:00PM and Thurs, April 4, 3:30-6:00PM
Where: Renaissance Arts Center & Theater / 1200 E. Center Street,
Kingsport, TN / Main Gallery - 2nd Floor
Note: The artist is expected to deliver the artwork on their entry form.
No substitutions or title changes will be accepted after the close of
registration.
PICK-UP OF ARTWORK
When: Mon, May 13, 2024, 4:00-6:00PM
Where: Renaissance Arts Center & Theater / 1200 E. Center Street,
Kingsport, TN / Main Gallery - 2nd Floor
Note: The Kingsport Art Guild, the Renaissance Arts Center and
Theater, and all associated sponsors are not responsible for artwork
entries not picked up on the above pick-up date. Artwork not picked
up 14 days after the closing will become the property of the Kingsport
Art Guild.
RECEPTION: Sunday, April 7, 2024, 2-4PM in the Main Gallery
JURIED ART
A list of artists juried into the show will be posted on this website
before Sunday, April 7, 2024.
Artwork not juried into the show can be picked up after the reception
or on the above pick-up date after the show.
SALES AND COMMISSION
Sales are encouraged. All sales are subject to a 15% commission for
Kingsport Art Guild Members and 30% for non-Kingsport Art Guild
members.
ENTRY / REGISTRATION / PAYMENT
$20 for one art entry or
$30 for two art entries
Diptychs will be treated as two works of art

b. ACCURACY: accurate spelling, use of upper/lower case, and art
information (title, medium, price) is required for printing the art
information tags that will be placed on the wall next to your art
c. SUBMIT: click submit
2. PAY: Complete the entry fee process.
3. IDENTIFICATION CARD(S) for your artwork will be provided when
you deliver your art.
By completing the online entry form, the artist agrees to abide by the
Release and Indemnity Agreement.
RELEASE & INDEMNITY AGREEMENT: The exhibitor the 2024 Appalachian
Art Show sponsored by Eastman and the Kingsport Art Guild for and in
consideration of the permission and privilege granted to the exhibitor to
store and display said works of art in the Renaissance Arts Center April 3 -
May 13, 2024, hereby releases the Kingsport Art Guild, associated sponsors,
the Renaissance Arts Center and Theater, Office of Cultural Arts, and the
City of Kingsport, Tennessee, from any and all claims for damages to or
loss of any said works so exhibited or stored, whether such damage or loss
results from theft, acts of vandalism, or any other cause.
For the same consideration, the exhibitor covenants and agrees to hold
the Renaissance Arts Center and Theater, Office of Cultural Arts, and the
City of Kingsport, Tennessee, its employees, agents, and the Kingsport Art
Guild harmless from any claim for loss or damage to such artwork
exhibited by the exhibitor, which are asserted by any persons other than
the exhibitor, including without limitation the owners of such works
exhibited, which grow out or arise during the exhibit (during display or
storage) of such works by the exhibitor.
Permission is granted to photograph entered artwork for publicity
purposes and historic record.
